Savannah Christian's junior softball standout, Chaynie Cornwell, has been named the John Carr Seasport Real Estate Player of the Week for her exceptional performances from September 18 to September 23, 2023.

Cornwell's impressive stats from that week were against region opponent Liberty County and non-region games against Prince Avenue and Union County. Chaynie went 9-11 with a .818 batting average, a .867 on-base percentage, 1.776 on-base percentage, and slugging percentage, a .909 slugging percentage, nine stolen bases, six runs batted in, six runs scored, and two walks.

"Chaynie had a great week at the plate and in the field for us this week. She is a catalyst for our offense and has the ability to change the game with her combination of power and speed. She is starting to hit her stride as we get into the toughest part of our region schedule. I expect her to lead us on offense for the rest of the season," said SCPS head Coach Matt Oglesby.

Congratulations to Chaynie Cornwell on this well-deserved recognition!
